Seedheart, a ‘moving’ puppet show about the environment, on at Cambridge University Botanic Garden

The Indigo Moon Theatre group was at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden (CUBG) on Monday (19 February) for a special showing of the puppet show Seedheart by Anna Ingleby – and there are more showings this evening (Wednesday, 21 February).

The production, shown in the Garden Room and part of the University of Cambridge’s Twilight at the Museums, tells the tale of what happened to the Earth when humans came along and how we can restore our once green planet.

The story unfolds (literally) from a single suitcase and follows main character Grey’s journey to a better future.

Sally Lee, the family learning officer at the garden, said: “It’s the first time we’ve ever done a theatre show in the garden, and the response was really amazing.

“People were getting involved, shouting things out (when they were meant to shout things out), and we had one lady at the end who said ‘Oh, that was hard-hitting, I actually cried’.

“And another family I spoke to were very moved by the whole show. It’s all about environmental issues and the human impact on the planet.”
