During May, wildflowers, like this bloodroot, start blooming in Wisconsin.

  • Pokémon Day @ Pringle, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Visitors to Pringle can meet other local Pokémon trainers (whether you play Pokémon Go or not), learn how Pokémon characters are based on real-life animals, make a craft and hunt for creatures hidden along the trails of Bristol Woods. This program is free (donations are appreciated). No registration is required. All ages are welcome. Come and leave as you like.
  • Ephemeral Wildflower Hikes, 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday, May 10-11. Ephemeral wildflowers only bloom for a short time, so catch them while you can. Participants will learn about these diminutive but beautiful plants, including their identification, ecology and uses, on a hike in Bristol Woods, led by Pringle staff members. The group will meet at the Nature Center to start the one-mile hike, with frequent stops. The route includes hilly, dirt trails. This event is for agegs 16 and older. The cost is “pay what you wish.” Registration will close when spaces are filled. Note: Go to pringlenc.org/events for registration and more information, or to reserve an all-terrain wheelchair for your hike.
