The Southern Conservation Trust is excited to bring a summer of exploration, learning and environmental stewardship to Coweta County starting July 8.
The Trust will offer a week-long camp at McGuffey Nature Center in Newnan where participants can engage in nature and the outdoors through environmental education and various outdoor activities, including archery, hiking, kayaking, fishing and tree climbing.
With the growing trend of environmental education in youth development, SCT’s Outdoor Adventure Camp aims to instill a sense of responsibility and respect for the environment in 11- to 14-year-olds.
Participants will have the chance to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of their surroundings. These experiences will deepen their understanding of the environment and foster a sense of adventure and resilience.
“We aim to instill a sense of responsibility and respect for the environment in young individuals,” Caroline Creel, director of education at the Fayette Environmental Education Center.
